I don't feel ready to work on my emotions, can Live Empowered Counselling still help me?

Yes! We work with folks at every stage of change. We are a team of integrative therapists, meaning we work from a variety of different approaches to meet your individual needs. We work on 'the practical stuff' and 'the emotional stuff." So, if you are looking to work on skill building or have life interfering behaviours that need to be reduced before you can be ready to process your emotions, we can help with that!

I don't have a formal Eating Disorder diagnosis, can I still work with Live Empowered Counselling?

Yes! Although most hospital based programs require a formal diagnosis for a referral, Live Empowered Counselling is a private provider and does not require any diagnosis for you to be a client.

I don't think I have an Eating Disorder, but I feel like my eating is disordered, can I still work with Live Empowered Counselling?

Yes! eating disorders and disordered eating are words that are often used interchangeably to describe experiences with food that result in feelings of anxiety and can be disruptive to overall health and life functioning. Even though disordered eating is a term used to describe food and and body related concerns that do not meat diagnostic criteria for an eating disorder, you are still deserving of help and support as disordered eating can turn into a more severe eating disorder if left untreated.

Does Live Empowered Counselling work with children as well as adults?

Yes! At this time, we are able to serve children, adolescents, and adults.

Can I work with Live Empowered Counselling even if I don't have an Eating Disorder/disordered eating?

Yes! We work with those suffering from eating disorders, disordered eating, developmental trauma, anxiety, relationship struggles, negative body image, poor self-esteem, and many other areas.

Insurance & Billing

Psychotherapy services are not covered by OHIP. Health insurance and extended health care plans may fully or partially cover session fees. Please contact your provider to verify if your plan covers out particular qualifications and services. 

Please also note that we do not provide third party billing and the whole session fee is due at the end of each session. 

We accept cash, cheque, e-transfer, and all major credit cards.

Cancellation Policy

We require 24 hours notice for cancellations. Cancellations should be made  via the online scheduling system or email. Missed appointments or cancellations made without the required notice that cannot be rescheduled within the same week are subject to charge.

Phone Consultation

Start by booking your initial consultation. We’ll  establish if we’re a good fit based on mutual comfort levels and our confidence in our ability to support your holistic therapy journey.  

Therapy Sessions

During the initial sessions we will establish a deeper understanding of the fears, worries, and concerns you would like to move away from and the wants, needs, and desires you would like to move toward. Based on that, we will create a comprehensive approach for your treatment.

The Journey Continues

Beginning with weekly or bi-weekly appointments, we focus on your emotional, behavioural, and body-felt sensations. We work toward feelings of validation and visibility, as you move through your personal growth journey.
